Marching to the Beat

Is it better to march in time with everyone else?

Or in time with the music?

  1. Every time. This irritated me when a teacher (more years ago than I care to remember!) made fun of it, suggesting that it was impossible for one person to be marching in time when he was out of step with everyone else. Even at 9 years of age, I could see the flaw in his argument. But, then, I said nothing. Apart from his unashamed and obvious bias against me, he was not a very good teacher! (Believe me. He hated me and everything I stood for, even back then. He took every opportunity to embarrass me in front of the class, and never even tried to hide his annoyance at my being there.)
